The New Rule On Benching
It will not be tolerated. Sever punishment will ensue if you bench your team in effort to lose (or for any reason). The One-Win system will help ease temptations, but we still need this rule, and it's a harsh one if broken.
The One-Win System
We have switched to a one win system for this season, instead of the category win system. Each week, you will either WIN, LOSE, or TIE based on your week overall, instead of a win/lose per category.
The 3 Keeper System
Each team is to select 3 Keeper Players from their final roster each season. When a player is selected as a keeper, they are then under contract for a period of no more than 2 Years.
- The Rules For Selection:
- No player drafted in the first 2 rounds of the draft in the year of selection can be kept as a keeper (32 players) (THIS WILL CHANGE AFTER 2016-2017 SEASON SO ANY PLAYER CAN BE KEPT)
- Any player in any position can be kept.
- Keeper selections must be submitted on time (End of day September 1st of every year) or 3 random players from your roster will be selected as keepers when the day expires.
- The Contract:
- -- The contract will last for a period of 2 years. When the contract expires, the player can no longer be kept and must be put back for drafting.
- -- During the season, a contract will be nullified if the player is dropped from a team AND they clear waivers. Should any other team grab the player off waivers, the contract remains intact.
- -- Contracts are traded with the players, should the players be traded at any point.
The Draft Picks
We will now be able to trade draft picks (but note that it will be first 11 picks only. The last 3 picks are keeper placeholders and must not be traded). For those not familiar, you must trade picks for picks; every team must have 14 total picks.
- The Lottery Draft
- Each division will have a separate 4 team equally weighted lottery to determine the draft order, with Division D getting top 4 picks, followed by C, B and then A.
- NOTE: Waiver priority will be reverse order of the draft, with the worst pick getting the best waiver position.
The total number of roster slots will be 14 - specifically 2 Center, 2 L-wing, 2 R-wing, 3 Defence, 2 Utility (Can be any position except goalie), 2 Goalie, and 3 Bench. There will also be 2 IR+ spots, which is not included in roster total.
The Stat Categories
NOTE: We have removed SHP and SO after switching to One-Win system
- Forwards/Defensemen:
- Goals (G), Assists (A), Plus/Minus (+/-), Penalty Minutes (PIM), Powerplay Points (PPP), Game-Winning Goals (GWG), Shots on Goal (SOG), Faceoffs Won (FW), Hits (HIT), Blocks (BLK)
- Goaltenders Stat Categories:
- Wins (W), Losses (L), Goals Against Average (GA), Save % (SV %)
NEEDS UPDATING FOR 18 TEAMS
The 16 teams will be split into 4 divisions, and going forward it will be based on the standings the previous year (though will be randomly selected in Year One - 15/16 Season)
- Division A = Top 4 teams after playoffs (The Final Four)
- Division B = Remaining 4 teams that made playoffs.
- Division C = Best 4 of the remaining 8 (by overall rank).
- Division D = Worst 4 of remaining 8 (by overall rank).
The Schedule
Each team will take on each divisional team 3 times (9 games), and all non-divisional teams 1 time (12 games), and then one additional divisional team 1 time (match based on divisional lottery position, 1vs4 and 2vs3) for a total of 22 weeks.

The Playoffs
The top team in each division will be awarded top seeds. All other teams essentially enter a wild card race with the top teams overall of those remaining being the final 4 seeds. There will be 3 weeks of playoffs - 8 teams, 4 teams, championship.
The Prize Payout
The prize payout is based on $738 (18 teams x 20 buck entry) + ((2 bucks X 9 matchups) X 21 weeks). $113 will be the 'Presidents trophy', given to the top ranked team pre-playoffs. The remaining $625 will go $375 for 1st, $175 for 2nd and $75 for 3rd.
